Vivo Nepal is starting its 2021 with the launch of a new Y series smartphone. The company has launched the Vivo Y51 in the market. They started taking the pre-booking orders on Daraz. Now it is available in the market. This smartphone sits in the mid range category and comes with Android 11, triple back cameras, a big battery, and 8 GB RAM. It is good to see that mid-range smartphones are coming with 8 GB RAM now. This is a big change that is trickling down from flagship phones to affordable phones. Design and Build
The Vivo Y51 has a design that we have seen in different previous phones from the company. There is a big screen at the front with a notch at the top. Inside the notch, there is a selfie camera. The back of the phone has an appealing design with a reflective gradient design. The camera placement of all three modules also looks good in a neat rectangular layout. Y51 has smaller bezels and a tight construct that looks good. Vivo is targeting this device to the youth with its design, looks, and features.

Under the big display, we get an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor with 8 GB RAM. There is 128 GB internal storage and 1 TB external memory card support. 128 GB storage is large, and it is enough for many people. However, we still have the option to add a memory card up to 1024 GB. That might be useful for people who take a lot of 4K videos and keep the movies in their collections.
Snapdragon 665 processor was launched in 2019, and it was also in the Vivo V20 SE. The hardware specifications of Vivo Y51 is similar to V20 SE, but there are some minor differences. In this Y51, there is a 5000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging. According to the company, this battery can power the phone for 17.9 hours for online movie streaming. Similarly, it can power the Y51 for 9.9 hours for gaming sessions. Vivo also claims that 18W fast charging can charge 70% battery in 64 minutes. Vivo Y51 comes with Android 11 operating system and Funtouch 11 UI on top. The phone also has a bunch of sensors and features. This includes Bluetooth 5.0, Accelerometer, E-Compass, and Gyrosensor.
Display and Cameras
The front side of Vivo Y51 has a 6.58″ LCD screen with FHD+ resolution. It is a 21:9 aspect ratio screen with 415 PPI pixel density. This is a big screen, and at the top, there is a notch with the front camera. The selfie camera is 16 MP with an f/2.0 aperture. It can take high-resolution photos and 1080p videos. It is good for young people who want to take selfies and make content for social media.
At the back, there are three cameras. The first one is a 48 MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, the second one is 8 MP ultrawide with 120˚ field of view, and the third one is a 2 MP macro camera.
